Tokyo’s alternative rock sensation, Hitsujibungaku, have announced their debut U.S. West Coast tour dates, bringing their unique blend of raw energy and introspective melodies to North American fans for the very first time on the mainland! Following the trio’s much-talked-about special performance in Honolulu, Hawaii, last December, anticipation has been steadily building among fans for the possibility of a tour on the U.S. mainland. Now, that wait is over.
The West Coast Tour will consist of the following dates:
- April 10 – San Diego, CA at House of Blues
- April 13 – Los Angeles, CA at Echoplex
- April 15 – San Francisco, CA at August Hall
- April 16 – Portland, OR at Crystal Ballroom
- April 18 – Seattle, WA at the Seattle Convention Center for Sakura-Con
Known for their compelling live performances and critically lauded albums, Hitsujibungaku has rapidly become one of Japan’s most exciting musical exports. Comprised of Moeka Shiotsuka (vocals, guitar), Yurika Kasai (bass), and Hiroa Fukuda (drums), the trio has garnered international praise for their poignant lyricism and dynamic soundscapes that traverse indie rock, shoegaze, and alternative genres. Their growing profile has been significantly bolstered by their songs being featured in popular anime and drama series, including “more than words” (the ending theme for Jujutsu Kaisen: Shibuya Incident), “Burning” (the ending theme for Oshi no Ko Season 2), “Hikaru toki” (the opening theme for The Heike Story), and “Mayoiga” (the theme song for the anime film The House of the Lost on the Cape), among others. Most recently, their new song “Voice” serves as the theme for the Fuji TV drama “119 Emergency Call.”
