ASTERISM, the formidable instrumental heavy metal trio from Japan, delivered an electrifying series of performances at Anime Expo 2024. Their jam-packed schedule included daily live sets that captivated diverse crowds, from dedicated metal fans to casual convention-goers, showcasing their technical prowess and dynamic stage presence.
Whether commanding the AX Crossing stage or Anime Expo Beer Garden stage, ASTERISM celebrated both heavy music and anime culture. Their sets vibrated with energy, featuring new tracks from their latest concept album, PLANET OF METAL, alongside engaging covers of popular anime anthems, including YOASOBI’s “Idol” from Oshi no Ko and even the classic Pokémon theme.
Guitarist HAL-CA, bassist MIYU, and drummer MIO consistently delivered high-energy performances, with HAL-CA occasionally stepping up for vocals on certain songs, yet always emphasizing their instrumental roots and individual technical skills.
